History books in school days donkey years ago portrayed Thailand as a magical and mystical kingdom that never came under British rule. As imperialism swept through most of Asia, Thailand managed to bypass all attempts by foreign forces to conquer and rule.
Together with the amazing scenery and tranquility captured and immortalized in the movie Anna and the King, I knew Thailand has much to offer and is a kingdom that I must set foot in one day.
And so I have… From the quiet north
to the clear waters in the many islands
from the unseen and sacred
to the more well known
and everything metropolitan -
Thailand is indeed alluring
